Please do! Even though aiden can be a piece of shit, I love walk-ups. While I don't mind tells, I much prefer walk-ups.

things i like.

I'd like to think I'm fairly open-minded but I tend to gravitate towards adventure, slice of life, mystery, combat, and I indulge in some dark themes every now and again. (Hence why Aiden exists.) I am okay with one-off and long-term RP.

personality many people would describe aiden as blissfully unaware. in public, he appears to mind his own business and makes it a point to look like he isn't paying attention to his surroundings. of course, this couldn't be further from the truth. outwardly, he seems quiet but perhaps unfriendly and unapproachable. he does not do well with small or friendly talk outside of work unless he deems it worth it to continue engaging.
while doing business, he is precise and to the point. he wastes as little words as possible and gets the job done.
those who are close enough to him will begin to notice that there are times where he appears to be whispering or even talking to himself. for those who know, they know.

history

biography1
Aiden was born to mother Josephine Anne Ravenfield (neé Williams) and Edward Nicholas Ravenfield. Both were not only young parents but also young but high ranking soldiers in the Immortal Flames. Two moons prior to Josephine giving birth to aiden, both she and Edward went on parental leave to prepare for his birth and to raise him. In time, they both returned to The Flames but had Josephine's duties reduced to administrative tasks so she can also focus on raising aiden during the day.

Aiden had a relatively normal childhood but was not the type to just sit around. At a young age, he began becoming interested in lance work. Finding something that he could focus on, his parents enrolled him in the Lancer's Guild in Gridania while being homeschooled by his mother to keep up with his studies. Eventually, Aiden decided to follow in his parents' footsteps and become a Flames soldier at the age of seventeen.

Unfortunately, tragedy struck his family. During the Battle of Carteneau, both of his parents perished though no remains were found in the aftermath of all the destruction. Despite all of this, he continued his services to The Immortal Flames because that's what he believed his mother and father would have wanted. During this tumultuous time, he befriended a fellow soldier named Thomas Westford, a Flame Corporal while he was still a Private First Class. They become close friends and Aiden confided in him for everything.

Right before the events that led to the Sultana's supposed poisoning, Aiden was promoted to Flame Sergeant Third Class, skipping the Corporal rank altogether, for helping his superiors with intelligence regarding stopping aetheric crystal trade routes with the Amalj'aa. At this point, he was given much more responsibilities and had shown he can lead the underclassmen.

A few years later, Aiden had been promoted to Chief Flame Sergeant and because of his intelligence being very dependable, he was to stop another aetheric crystal trade to prevent the Amalj'aa from summoning Ifrit again. Of course, this was successful. However, a day after the operation, he was framed. All the aetheric crystals were somehow found not only in his home but also in his quarters within the Flame Barracks. Despite swearing to Nald and Thal that he did not take them and he was framed, his superiors were having none of it. He was stripped of his rank and dishonourably discharged.

Lucky that he wasn't completely banished from Ul'dah, Aiden was sure he was framed. Still, no one in the city would hire him. He wandered further inland to Gridania and then ended up in Ishgard. Down on his luck and gil, he became depressed and perhaps he started to spiral down. He later met a strange man with horns on the sides of his face who eventually becomes a new mentor for him as he accepts the darkside of himself. He learned that spite, vindictiveness, anger, and vengeance fuel this power and in a short amount of time, he became very well-versed in the dark arts.Once he was back on his feet, Aiden investigated his former soldier comrades and eventually learned that he was indeed framed by his former friend Thomas Westford. He was able to subdue him while alone and demanded answers. But not before physically torturing him first. While Aiden's darkside really wanted to end him, Aiden himself wanted him to suffer so he bid him confess to their superiors or he will do something much worse. For the first time, Aiden saw his former best friend in complete fear for his life and he relished in the scene. Thomas had never seen him like this before, so dark yet powerful. True to his word, an injured Thomas confessed to his superiors the next day and not only was he stripped of his rank, he was banished from The Immortal Flames and forbidden to return to Ul'dah. When asked where Aiden was, Thomas was too afraid to say and told them he didn't know. That was the last time Aiden has seen him.5
